Emails from TrackMyRupee

Emails come from [email protected]. This page lists each one, when it is sent, and how to stop the ones you can stop.

Account emails

Email When Notes
Confirm your email address When you sign up, or ask for another from the verification banner The link is single-use. You can ask for a new one once every 15 minutes, up to 3 a day. Other emails (such as the welcome email) do not count against that limit.
Welcome Right after you sign up A short note with a link to your dashboard.
Password reset When you use Forgot password The link is single-use.
Account deleted After you delete your account Confirms that your data is gone.

If a confirmation email does not arrive, check spam, then use Resend on the banner. If delivery fails on our side, nothing is lost: ask for another.

Plan emails

Email When Notes
Thank you for upgrading Once, when your first payment on Plus or Pro goes through Shows the plan, the amount paid and either the end date, the next renewal date or "for life". Renewals do not send another one, and neither does a free trial.
Subscription Expiring Soon Two days before a plan that you paid for once (monthly, yearly) ends Arrives in that day's alert digest on Plus and Pro. Plans on automatic renewal do not get it, because they renew themselves.

Getting-started tips (Free accounts)

Free accounts with a confirmed address get up to four short emails after sign-up:

Day Subject
2 3 tips to master your finances
5 Recurring transactions
14 What Plus adds
30 Your first month in review (your own counts of expenses, income and categories)

If our mail service was down for a few days, you get only the latest one that applies, not all of them at once. A failed send is retried on the next run. Paid accounts do not receive these.

Alert digest (Plus and Pro)

One email a day that lists every new alert (bills due, budget alerts, goal milestones), or a single alert with its own title when there is only one. See Notifications and Reminders. Free accounts get no alert emails.

Monthly report

Sent in the first days of each month to users with a confirmed address, covering the previous calendar month. It is skipped if you had no income or spending that month, and it is never sent twice for the same month.

How each figure is worked out:

Figure How
Income Income in the month, excluding cashback and refunds
Total Expenses (Outflow) Regular expenses + every loan repayment + capital events. This is a cash-out figure, so it is larger than what the savings rate counts.
Savings and Savings rate The same definition as the dashboard: income − expenses − loan interest − capital events that count in averages, divided by income without cashback and refunds. Loan principal is repaying borrowed money, so it is not spending.
Investments Balances of your investment accounts at the end of the month
Credit Card Pending What you owe on your cards at the end of the month. A card in credit shows nothing.
Net Worth Growth Your net worth at the end of the month compared with the day before the month began, both taken from your ledger
Top Spending Categories Your four biggest categories of regular spending
Smart Insight The share of your regular spending that went on your top category, and what 15% less on it would save
